When housewife Diane Ingleby is shot dead in a car park DI John Handford and DS Khalid Ali are called in to investigate. It's a baffling case - a kind considerate woman gunned down in front of her husband and daughter. Handford has many questions - Was Diane the intended victim or was the killer after another family member? Was she as happy as she seemed? Why had she suddenly started keeping a diary?
