Come You On Inside

When World War II breaks out Shummy and her family leave their native London to stay with her Aunt Dolly and Uncle Ross in Suffolk. To a seven-year-old country life is strange but she soon becomes involved with village life attending the school playing with her cousin Jasmine and making friends with their neighbours especially Miss Rumbelow - known to Shummy as Auntie Rum. Just a few miles away are Grandad and Nanna proprietors of the Buck Inn. The quiet pace of country life is a stark contrast to their life in London where the Battle of Britain is raging.
